The two-course, six-day Leadership Academy engages candidates in a self-examination of leadership, what that means, and how it impacts their careers. The interactive dialogue with thought leaders and peers focuses on the leadership issues currently facing Texas cities.
The academy is designed for up-and-coming city staff and officials who are committed to developing a strong ethic of leadership and service.
Past Leadership Academy participants have included:
- Aldermen, city councilmembers, and mayors
- City managers and assistant city managers
- Police and fire chiefs, senior police, and fire staff
- Department directors and assistant directors (finance, human resources, planning, transportation)
- City secretaries
Once a Fellow Always a Fellow
The TML Leadership Academy’s stellar program is the same every year with the exception of an occasional speaker change. If you previously completed the full academy, you are already part of the elite group of leadership alumni and do not need to attend again.
